Jordan R. Foutin

Jordan R. Foutin (born: May 11, 1990) is an American novelist best known for his technically detailed espionage and military-science fiction thriller storylines set during and after the year 2178, A.D. in blended utopian and dystopian plots. He is also the Founder, Owner, and Chief Executive Officer of StormTeam Simulations.

Foutin's literary career began in 1995 when he began writing his first military science fiction thriller novel STORMTEAM (previously titled "Daniel Storm") published by StormTeam Simulations on July 4, 2017, and is the publisher of CEO Jordan Foutin’s free blog Chronicles of Aaen.

Early life and Education

Foutin was born on May 11, 1990, at a hospital in Provo, UT, and grew up in north Orem, Utah. The family is Scandinavian-American. He is the fourth and by far the tallest of four children to Janet Raty, who worked as a marketing professional and entrepreneur, and his biological father who worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Jordan's mother enrolled him in Electronic High School (EHS) in Salt Lake City, where he graduated in 2010. Although technical issues delayed the formal conferral of his diploma, he completed all coursework within 180 days—compared to the school’s three‑year academic estimate—while already researching PhD programs. During this period, he interned at The Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center (CMSEC), earning recognition for advanced leadership and receiving a rapid, merit‑based promotion to Flight Director aboard the USS Phoenix (NX‑2005‑C).

Foutin attended the University of Phoenix beginning in 2012, graduating in 2014 (Accel., CL) with an Associate of Arts in Communications and later earning his Bachelor of Science (Accel., MCL) in the same field. He completed his coursework in record time while caring for his mother, his eldest sister, Adrian, and his aging maternal grandparents. During this period, he also pursued independent study in multiple languages and musical instruments—favoring his acoustic guitar—and explored musical composition, playwriting, and screenwriting. Among other similar projects, he later wrote a full screenplay adaptation of his debut novel, STORMTEAM: A StormTeam Simulations Novel, and selected his favored cast for the project. His professors were left astonished and eager to see StormTeam Simulations continue its work.

While completing his studies, Foutin worked at Discovery Space Center (DSC, now Telos Discovery Space Center), where he applied his communications and leadership training to lead more than 300 personnel in rescuing the organization from looming bankruptcy after its first year—achieving the turnaround within 180 days, a feat unprecedented in the niche industry’s 30‑plus‑year history. His performance produced historically unprecedented, positively industry‑disruptive KPIs, including more than a +2,100% organization‑wide performance improvement, an +80% boost in HR retention, 100% customer and client retention, and up to an 80% reduction in operational expenses. These metrics continued to climb over time and drew attention from PhD‑level professionals and industry observers worldwide, many of whom expressed eagerness to be part of what he is building.

After graduating, Foutin founded StormTeam Simulations while working additional jobs to support the early stages of the venture, continuing to write novels in his spare time. StormTeam Simulations has since earned the attention of multiple high‑profile private‑sector and Federal organizations, including AFWERX and the United States Department of Defense.

In 2025, Foutin attempted to join the United States Navy as a direct‑commission officer, considering Intelligence roles, flotilla IT and communications work, or earning his trident and becoming a Navy SEAL. MEPS Salt Lake City acknowledged his patriotism; however, military and civilian decision‑makers advised him to remain a civilian in light of StormTeam Simulations and the Department of Defense’s need for a contractor capable of providing its sought‑after mental‑health benefits and other unique advantages to American service members.

During this period, he continued developing his debut novel—then titled Daniel Storm—along with multiple additional manuscripts. The work was later revised and published as STORMTEAM: A StormTeam Simulations Novel, available through stormteamsimulations.com and other major retailers in eBook, paperback, and audiobook formats.

Career

Foutin's literary career began in 1995 when he started writing then-titled Daniel Storm, which in July 2017 was published via StormTeam Simulations Space Center on Smashwords.com by arrangement with StormTeam Simulations under the pseudonym JR Winter. Young adult and adult readers were impressed with the work, with comments pouring in, "Absolutely life-changing. God bless you for this piece of art." Foutin's novels focus on the hero, most notably Daniel Storm and Sera Adriana Hart. He uses the formula whereby the heroes are highly skilled, disciplined, honest, thoroughly professional, and only lose their cool when incompetent politicians or bureaucrats get in their way.

Political views

Foutin is pro-life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Foutin generally dedicates his books to American conservative political figures and American military heroes, some of which Foutin has social connections with.

Personal life

Foutin is straight, single, never married, and has no children. He is currently on a unique relational trajectory.
